OREANDA-NEWS Yuri Vladimirov, General Director of the Sochi commercial seaport, told RIA Novosti that the company’s management plans to purchase its own cargo and passenger ferry in order to develop tourism and launch a message to Trabzon in Turkey, the search for the vessel has already begun.
There were statements about the launch of a cargo and passenger ferry between Sochi and Turkey last year, when the head of the Chamber of Commerce of the province of Trabzon, Erkut Chelebi, announced plans to put the vessel into operation after a nine-year break. According to him, the agreement on this was planned to be signed on April 6, and the ferry was planned to be launched in May.
It was assumed that the vessel would be able to accommodate up to 300 people and 200 cars.
