Sky Express inaugurated flights between Athens and Istanbul on Tuesday (Nov. 12), with the first flight landing at IGA Istanbul Airport on the European side, where passengers were met by officials of the Greek consulate, the CEO, and officials of the Turkish airport, and a representative of the Turkish tourism organization ‘Go Turkiye’, ANA reports.
Yiannis Grylos, founder and president of Sky Express, which is based in Greece, was among the passengers. The new flight reflects the increased tourism and trade exchanges between Greece and Turkiye as a result of improved bilateral relations.
