Turkey’s ambitious target of 60 million tourists and 60 billion euros in tourism revenue in 2024 was not only achieved but also exceeded. According to data from the country’s Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Turkey welcomed over 62 million visitors, generating revenue of 61.1 billion. dollars, 8.3% more than in 2023.
17% of the revenue came from Turkish citizens living abroad who visited their homeland for holidays. Personal spending amounted to $43.1 billion while spending on holiday packages reached $17.4 billion — an increase of 22.7% compared to 2023.
