The Spanish government has issued a warning due to a concerning increase in cases of Lyme disease and Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), spread by parasitic ticks. Health officials have started a new project to track these pests, placing them under the National Plan for Surveillance and Control of Vector-borne Diseases. Symptoms of these diseases include high fever, muscle ache, and light-headedness, with over 80% of cases showing no visible signs. Amid these health warnings, there are also safety concerns for vacationers in other countries such as Greece, Italy, and Turkey.
