The total contribution of travel and tourism to employment in Turkey rose by 30 percent in 2022 over the previous year, following a substantial drop in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, travel and tourism in the country generated, directly and indirectly, over three million jobs in 2022, which reached above pre-pandemic levels. In 2023, the employment figures are forecast to slightly increase.
