In a year marked by significant growth, Turkey’s ports welcomed a record influx of 1.5 million cruise passengers in 2023, marking a nearly 50 percent increase from the preceding year. According to the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry’s General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, a total of 1,192 cruise ships docked at Turkish ports, underscoring the country’s escalating popularity as a global tourism hub.
Kusadasi Port: The Most Frequented Destination
The Aegean resort town of Kusadasi emerged as the premier port of call, receiving 531 ships and approximately 779,000 passengers. Boasting a rich history, captivating landscapes, and a vibrant culture, Kusadasi has steadily solidified its status as a must-visit destination for globe-trotting cruisers.
