The Greek Islands off the western coast of Turkey, in particular Samos, have stolen the hearts of thousands of Turkish tourists, who have flocked to the cluster of Greek isles in the eastern Aegean Sea during the summer.
According to the popular German news site Focus.de, the rise in the number of Turkish holidaymakers is partly attributed to the Visa Express scheme, which facilitates short-term visits (1–7 days) to ten Greek islands for Turkish nationals.
