Korea’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Yu In-chon, held a bilateral meeting with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Minister of Culture and Youth, Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, in Abu Dhabi on April 29. The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss and expand tourism cooperation between the two nations, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance people-to-people exchanges.
During their discussion, the ministers agreed to actively pursue tourism exchanges. They specifically addressed the prospect of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on tourism cooperation. This potential agreement would formalize and deepen the commitment to collaborative efforts in the tourism sector.
Both ministers concurred on the importance of enhancing collaboration across various fields, including culture, sports, and tourism. They acknowledged the success of the 2023 Korea-UAE Cultural Dialogue as a foundational achievement, indicating a shared desire to build upon existing successful exchanges and further strengthen their partnership.
