The Foreign Office has just updated its travel advice, warning UK tourists about a higher risk of terrorist attacks in Turkey. They’ve told holidaymakers to be extra careful and have listed some places in the country that might be risky, especially because of past attacks.
The latest advice from the FO states: “There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets. You should remain vigilant at all times.”
Right now, they’re saying it’s very likely that terrorists could try to attack in Turkey, and the tension between Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories is making matters more serious. Most attacks happen in southeast Turkey, Ankara, and Istanbul.
