Abu Dhabi has embarked on a transformative journey with the approval of the new Tourism Strategy 2030 under the guidance of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Spearheaded by the Department of Culture and Tourism, the blueprint sets forth a roadmap for expansion and strategic development in the emirate’s travel and tourism sector.
The tourism strategy seeks to boost visitor numbers from nearly 24 million in 2023 to 39.3 million by 2030, with a 7 percent year-on-year growth. Moreover, it plans to significantly elevate the tourism and travel sector’s contribution to the UAE’s gross domestic product (GDP), raising it from approximately AED49 billion in 2023 to AED90 billion annually by 2030.
