Manar Abu Dhabi 2025, a public art exhibition, is scheduled to run from March 2025 to March 2026, showcasing a fusion of art and nature across various locations in Abu Dhabi. Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) as part of its Public Art Abu Dhabi initiative, the event aims to captivate and inspire visitors with immersive light installations. The exhibition will be spread across significant sites including Jubail Island, Saadiyat Island, Lulu Island, and the historic Al Ain Oasis, alongside other urban and natural landscapes within the UAE.
Curated by Reem Fadda and Alia Zaal Loutah, Manar Abu Dhabi 2025 will feature works by a diverse group of local, regional, and international artists. The installations encompass sculptures, projections, and design works, all crafted to encourage introspection, foster community connections, and offer fresh perspectives on Abu Dhabi’s unique environments. The initiative’s core objectives include celebrating the emirate’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage while promoting a sense of belonging among its communities.
This upcoming edition builds on the foundation of the inaugural Manar Abu Dhabi, which took place from November 2023 to January 2024 and presented over 35 light artworks. Manar Abu Dhabi is a vital component of Abu Dhabi’s broader cultural strategy, which seeks to enrich public spaces with art and includes other major projects such as the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, and Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi. The 2025 exhibition will explore themes centered around light, water, and material, aiming to enhance cultural exchange and community engagement through accessible public art experiences.
