RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A skateboarder was seriously injured when they were struck by a car in Reno Tuesday night.
Crews responded to a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash near the intersection of Mae Anne and Coit Plaza around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 3. Once crews were on scene they discovered the pedestrian had been skateboarding in a travel lane when the crash occurred.
Medical personnel transported the skateboarder to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is handling the investigation. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. It does not appear speed or impairment were factors in this crash.
