Inmarsat Maritime, a subsidiary of Viasat Inc., has launched its first Fleet Reach Coastal LTE service. The service provides seamless broadband connectivity for vessels near the coast or docked in a port. Powered by Fleet Xpress, offering both satellite and terrestrial connectivity, it leverages advanced satellite constellations. The service will either be available on regional or multi-regional plans depending on the operational area of the vessels. The Fleet Reach service forms a crucial part of the Inmarsat ORCHESTRA, also known as the ‘network of networks,’ as it utilizes multiple technologies across various orbits.
