According to the National Statistics Institute, arrivals reached 1.27 million in 2025, up nearly 15% year-on-year. Foreign guests staying in hotels more than tripled over five years, reaching close to 760,000 in 2024. The government aims to boost tourism’s contribution to GDP from under 1% to 6% by 2029, indicating strong demand conversion potential remains the key opportunity for the travel industry.
