Travelzoo has announced plans to launch its own version of the metaverse, which it presents as a digital travel experiences platform. Details of the venture, named Travelzoo META, remain under wraps, but its development is a top priority for the company’s management. Travelzoo hopes the project will help increase its memberships, which stagnated in 2022, and boost its revenue growth. The company also aims to expand its subscription revenue from Jack’s Flight Club, an airline deals newsletter. General Manager Arveena Ahluwalia stated during a recent earnings call that the team was actively preparing for the first phase of the launch.
