Satellite communications firm, Viasat, is expanding its partnership with Airbus Defence and Space to equip the Airbus C295 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA), recently procured by the Spanish Ministry of Defence, with advanced satellite communications (SATCOM) technology. Specifically, Viasat’s dual-band broadband terminal, the GAT-5530, will be integrated into the Spanish MPA fleet. This will offer a strong, flexible broadband SATCOM capacity while utilizing SpainSat NG satellites for secure and reliable communication.
