HARTFORD, CT — Music, culture, and artistic pride was on display at the State Capitol Wednesday morning as more than 100 organizations gathered to celebrate Connecticut’s first official Arts, Culture & Tourism Day.
From theaters to universities, chambers of commerce to jazz ensembles and award-winning restaurants, booths and banners filled the building showcasing a sector officials say is responsible for over $17 billion in economic impact. State leaders also called for reinvestment in the industry, especially amid federal funding cuts to the arts and humanities.
