Hungarian tourism is off to a flying start in 2025, with Budapest and Lake Balaton emerging as the nation’s top travel destinations. The Ministry for National Economy has confirmed a strong performance in February, revealing that more than 1 million guests were recorded at accommodation facilities across the country — marking a 13.9% increase compared to the same month last year.
Tourists spent over 2.3 million guest nights nationwide, a year-on-year increase of nearly 4%, reinforcing Hungary’s growing appeal even during the typically quieter winter season.
