HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Coastal Carolina University is set to play against the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on Dec. 23, bringing excitement and economic opportunities to the Grand Strand community.
Jonathan Paris, Executive Director of Sports Tourism for Visit Myrtle Beach, said the event will have dual benefits.
“One obviously is the tourism it drives in a traditionally slower period of time with fans coming into town, but it also provides great exposure nationally in Myrtle Beach and the destination, the game’s broadcast live on ESPN,” Paris said.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging fans from across the country to attend the game in person.
