Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Carmen Nibingira, a Burundian national and a prominent figure in East Africa’s tourism industry.
In a heartfelt statement, UTB CEO Lily Ajarova praised Dr. Nibingira’s significant contributions to the growth and development of regional tourism and described her as a “beacon of knowledge” and a champion for sustainable tourism in East Africa.
Dr. Nibingira, 44, had a distinguished career that spanned decades, during which she played pivotal roles in the region’s tourism development.
