Fiji’s Tourism Minister has dismissed concerns of a mass alcohol poisoning, saying the country is “typically very safe”.
It comes after seven people, including four Australians, were hospitalised with suspected poisoning after drinking pina coladas at a five-star resort.
Still awaiting results from “critical” toxicology tests, Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka said the incident was “very isolated” and declined to speculate on the cause.
