Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday stated that the government is prioritising the promotion of religious and tourist destinations in Srinagar to boost tourism and attract more visitors.
Addressing the ongoing session of the J&K Legislative Assembly, Abdullah emphasised that landmarks such as Dal Lake, Nishat, Shalimar, Chashmashahi, Pari Mahal, shrines, temples, gurudwaras, and other notable sites define the uniqueness of Srinagar.
“We are committed to promoting these destinations,” he said in response to a query raised by MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar regarding the role of the tourism sector in J&K’s economy and the steps taken to enhance tourist inflow.
