“The six regions are the provinces of Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatra,” Sumadi said after chairing a joint internal meeting with the police at Korlantas’ Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
He said that the government and police will run a pilot project in the six provinces, which will seek to rearrange, evaluate, and inspect the safety of the transportation modes used for tourism activities.
The minister added that the six regions were chosen as they have a relatively large number of tourism vehicles.
“This constitutes a short-term initial step. Our plan is to carry out such a project in all regions of Indonesia,” he informed.
