Train service on Shimla-Kalka narrow gauge railway line beyond Taradevi is suspended as per official announcements made on Saturday. This measure was taken after a railway bridge was washed out during last year’s monsoon. Out of seven, four trains have suspended operation while two others run till Taradevi, with one going up to Kandaghat. Implications of this suspension have been detrimental to Shimla’s tourism business since the onset of the summer season has been drawing an influx of travelers to the hills.
