Hong Kong will turn its focus on attracting travelers from Persian Gulf countries, as they spent over HK$11,000 on average when visiting, which is 85 percent higher than the overall average, Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po said.
Chan wrote in his blog yesterday that the tourism Board will launch several campaigns targeting Gulf countries this month.
Chan said the board led the largest-ever tourism industry delegation to Dubai last week to participate in the Arabian Travel Market, the biggest annual international travel trade show held in the Middle East.
”Tourists from the Persian Gulf also recorded more overnight stays than the average level and are a high-spending tourist group,” he added.
