The United Nations (UN Tourism) has named two villages in Indonesia in the World Tourism Organization’s list of 55 Best Tourism Villages of 2024. The two tourist villages are Jatiluwih Village in Bali and Wukirsari Village in Yogyakarta.
The award included both tourist villages as part of the 55 Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism 2024.
“I am very proud and optimistic that this award can be an inspiration for other tourist villages in Indonesia to continue to optimize the potential of natural wealth, cultural heritage, and empowerment of the village community towards more inclusive and sustainable tourism,” said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana through a press statement to national media in Indonesia.
