The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is increasing its support for the global expansion of local start-ups in the tourism industry. Working with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the KTO opened the Korea Tourism Startup Center (KTSC) in Singapore, and later in Tokyo, in 2022. These centres are designed to help Korean tourism tech businesses break into the global market. A networking event, known as Demo Day, was held in Singapore in October 2023, allowing tourism start-ups to connect with local travel industry stakeholders. So far, the program has benefitted 118 travel tech start-ups.
