Montana’s tourism industry has stabilized in past 8-years

We’ve been combing through Montana’s Tax Collections from 2023 searching for surprises in Montana’s economy. One skyrocketing trend caught our eye.
Revenue from Bed Taxes shot up a WHOPPING 13% in Montana since 2019.
That shakes out to $58.289 million of tax revenue in 2023–a slice of the $5.82 billion visitors spent in Montana last year.
The rapid growth is a signal of the state’s booming tourism industry.
