The Municipality is moving forward with a project that goes beyond local needs and opens up new horizons for sports tourism in Chania, with the announcement of the construction of a permanent heated swimming pool measuring 25×15 meters and 1.8 meters deep. The announcement was made by the Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, during a meeting with parents of aquatic athletes.
The new swimming pool, which will be built in a specially designed area west of the Kladissos Indoor Gymnasium, will temporarily fill the gap left by the reconstruction of the Nea Chora Swimming Pool.
