The country’s natural beauty and cultural heritage are strongly represented with nominations for several of its iconic destinations. Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan are all vying for Asia’s Leading Beach Destination. Palawan and Siargao have been nominated for Asia’s Leading Dive Destination, while Intramuros is recognized for Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction and Asia’s Leading Heritage Destination. Manila received nominations for Asia’s Leading City Destination and Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination. Palawan also secured a nomination for Asia’s Leading Island Destination, and the Iloilo River is a contender for Asia’s Leading River Cruise Destination. The Philippines as a whole is nominated for Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination.
Beyond destinations, the Philippines’ infrastructure and services have also garnered attention. Mactan-Cebu International Airport is nominated for Asia’s Leading Airport.
