Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse saw a bigger bump in tourism-related foot traffic thanks to this week’s solar eclipse than any other metro area in the U.S., according to a report from Bloomberg.

It was also nearly double the U.S. average increase of about 26% for those metros.
The Syracuse metro area also saw a big increase in spending thanks to the eclipse. tourism-related spending in Syracuse for the Friday to Monday eclipse period was up more than 28% compared to the previous year.
Only Buffalo saw a bigger spending boost among metro areas in or near the path of the totality at more than 32%.
The U.S. average for totality metros was a spending increase of 13.7%.
