FAYETTEVILLE — The city has a new mayor.
Additionally, a local minister will fill the vacant Ward 4 seat on the City Council.
Molly Rawn, the city’s tourism director, defeated incumbent Mayor Lioneld Jordan, who has served since 2009, in Tuesday’s runoff election.
Jordan led Rawn in the Nov. 5 general election by about 3,500 votes, or 10 percentage points. Tom Terminella and Adam Fire Cat were the other two candidates in the race.
There were 56 provisional ballots but no overseas ballots left to be counted for Tuesday’s runoff. Final results are scheduled to be certified Dec. 12.
Final but unofficial results for Tuesday’s runoff were:
Rawn^5,411 (51%)
Jordan^5,169 (49%)
There are 59,241 registered voters in Fayetteville.
