The First Bus depot in York has made a significant environmental stride by permanently removing its diesel refuelling tanks and transitioning to an entirely electric fleet, making it the first of its kind in Yorkshire. This initiative is a major step towards reducing carbon emissions. First York, a historical bus operator that dates back to 1932, has traditionally relied on diesel fuel. The company moved to its current James Street depot over three decades ago, where it had an extensive fuel tank in place. Now, it operates solely on electricity.
