Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga, the tourism and Heritage minister, made this affirmation at the two-day tourism sector summit organized by the Zanzibar Association of tourism Investors (ZATI) and Kili Fair, with Exim Bank (T) as the main sponsor.
Gracing the meeting, President Dr Hussein Mwinyi urged Zanzibaris to seize the various tourism opportunities available in order to benefit from the government’s on-going investments in promoting and improving the sector.
“To reaffirm this commitment, we recently passed the new Investment Act of 2024, which provides numerous incentives in the tourism sector and other areas. The Act ensures that investors in various sectors, including tourism, are well protected and also offers various tax incentives,” he stated.
He affirmed that the government is determined to enhance infrastructure such as roads, electricity, water and airports to create an environment that fosters the growth of the tourism industry.
