In May, the Brazilian tourism industry reached four significant milestones. Brazilian airports were recognized in Cirium’s On-Time Performance Report, and two Brazilian eateries were included in the list of the top 50 global restaurants. From January to May 2024, the country reached a 10-year peak in revenue from international tourism. The number of international passengers also increased for the 38th consecutive month. In May, Brazil reported a record high of 1.9 million international travelers, the highest number since 2000. The Cirium survey highlighted Brasília International Airport, Congonhas in São Paulo, and Santos Dumont in Rio.
