For the second year in a row, Rio de Janeiro’s hotel industry is set to close 2024 with an average annual occupancy rate above 70%. After wrapping up 2023 with an average occupancy of 71.11%, hotels are expected to finish the year with occupancy rates above 70% once again, according to projections by the Sindicato dos Meios de Hospedagem do Município do Rio de Janeiro (HotéisRIO). The city has not seen two consecutive years with annual average occupancy above 70% since 2013-2014, when rates were 71.86% and 72.40%, respectively.
