Is travelling on flights becoming inconvenient day by day? We come across hundreds of passengers complaining about multiple challenges faced during their flight journeys. A couple of the most-faced issues are delays and sudden cancellations and unfortunately, such incidents are only surging. Recently, an Air India flight from Delhi to Vancouver was delayed by almost 22 hours leaving passengers tired and frustrated.
Vancouver-Bound Air India Departed From Delhi After Nearly 22 Hours

It was on June 1 when the passengers faced this worrisome experience on AI 185. According to the schedule, the flight was supposed to depart from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 5:30 AM on Saturday. However, the schedule changed and was delayed because of an issue. According to a report by The Indian Express, the flight departure was postponed due to technical issues. Later, it took off at 3:15 AM on Sunday.
Flight delays for a few hours exasperate passengers and affect most people’s scheduled plans too. We can only imagine how the flyers of this Delhi-Vancouver Air India flight experienced in these 22 hours. People usually reach the airport and wrap up the necessary security check-in and other steps at least 1 to 2 hours before the departure. Looks like passengers of this majorly delayed flight spent a day inside the Delhi airport premises.
Following the massive mishap, an Air India spokesperson released a statement. The spokesperson stated the reasons behind the delay. First, technical snags were reported. The next concern for the schedule change was because of the crew members “coming under the mandatory Flight Duty Time Limitations”.
And Similar Incidents Continue….

If the news of this 22 hours-flight delay seems extreme, you might be shocked to hear about recent updates. In the past week, Air India reported a couple of flight delay incidents connecting India with overseas destinations. While the reasons were dissimilar, the delays were long for some ultra-long-haul flight journeys. The Vancouver-bound Air India flight was the third one in the past week to face such a halt in operations.
A San Francisco-bound flight was scheduled to take off from Delhi at 3:30 PM on Thursday. However, the plane finally departed at 9:55 PM on Friday, after a delay of over 30 hours.
