A Mumbai-bound Vistara flight from Paris received a bomb threat, marking the second security scare for the airline within a week. A cabin crew of the flight UK 024 found a handwritten note alluding to a bomb onboard. The aircraft was carrying 294 passengers and 12 crew members. In a statement following the incident, the airline said, “A security concern has been noted by our staff while onboard the airline’s flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on 2 June 2024.” Adhering to established protocols, the airline alerted the appropriate authorities, Vistara said.
The flight landed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 10:19 am, and the airline stated that it is “fully cooperating with the security agencies for all the mandatory checks”.
This incident comes two days after a bomb threat targeting Vistara flight UK611 from Delhi. The alarm was raised when Air Traffic Control (ATC) Srinagar received a threatening call. On May 1, an IndiGo flight 6E-5314 from Chennai to Mumbai also received a similar bomb threat. Earlier on May 28 another IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi received a threat.
