Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Vientiane, Laos, on October 16, 2025, for an official visit. The primary objective of his trip is to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Laos and to strengthen the long-standing bilateral relationship.
Upon his arrival at Wattay International Airport, Prime Minister Anutin was received by Lao Minister of Energy and Mines, Phosay Sayasone, and the Thai Ambassador to Laos, Morakot Sriswasdi.
During his visit, Prime Minister Anutin is scheduled to engage in discussions with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. The agenda for these high-level talks includes a wide array of topics, such as economic cooperation, trade, investment, tourism, and infrastructure development. Discussions will also focus on enhancing cross-border connectivity and promoting regional stability.
The visit is anticipated to yield several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), aiming to boost existing collaborations and establish new partnerships. Key areas of focus include sustainable development, renewable energy initiatives, and environmental conservation.
Prime Minister Anutin underscored Thailand’s commitment to working closely with Laos, emphasizing the deep historical and cultural bonds shared between the two nations. The visit highlights a mutual dedication to achieving prosperity and security for both countries.
