Google has announced that it is going “all in on NDC” with SAP Concur and American Express GBT, claiming the move marks “big strides ahead for corporate travel”.
It has launched a “tie-goes-to-NDC” approach that will prioritise NDC content. Under the new approach, an NDC fare will be booked if it’s the same price as an EDIFACT fare.
Google Head of Travel Robert Bray announced the move on LinkedIn, saying it was a “game changer in the business travel ecosystem”.
“By increasing NDC saturation, the industry benefits in two major ways: it drives adoption of a more modern distribution model while also reducing interoperability challenges with traditional systems,” he said.
“As NDC bookings become more prevalent, we move closer to a seamless and integrated travel ecosystem with Google leading the way.”
