Two Delta Air Lines Planes Collide at New York Airport
Two Delta Air Lines aircraft were involved in a collision on the ground at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Friday evening. The incident occurred as one of the planes was being towed.
The collision involved a Delta Boeing 747 and a Delta MD-11. Reports indicate that the wingtip of the Boeing 747 struck the tail of the MD-11 during the towing operation.
The incident happened around 8:00 PM EST. No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew members on board either aircraft. Both planes were at the time empty of passengers.
Following the collision, the airport’s operations were reportedly unaffected. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
