Club Vistara CV points to merge with Air India’s Flying Returns program post airlines’ integration

Club Vistara will soon come to an end as part of the long-awaited merger between Air India and Vistara. Once the merger is complete, Club Vistara will merge with Air India’s Flying Returns program. Until the integration process is finalised, Club Vistara will continue to operate normally.

Club Vistara account will be migrated to Air India’s Flying Returns program once the integration is completed. Club Vistara’s CV Points balance and Tier Points will be transferred to Flying Returns program at a 1:1 ratio. The transferred points will remain valid for at least one year from the migration date.

The following information was shared by Vistara to Club Vistara members. This will be effective after the migration.

Tier Status –

Your tier status will be assigned based on the cumulative points of both programs. You will be able to maintain, at least, your current Club Vistara tier status or get upgraded if you qualify basis the cumulative points. Going forward, the rules of Flying Returns will apply.

CV Points and Tier Points balance –

On the day of migration, the CV Points balance and the Tier Points available in your account will be transferred to Flying Returns program at a 1:1 ratio. The points will remain valid for at least one year from the date of migration, even if they are due to expire sooner.

Future bookings using CV Points and Complimentary Flight Ticket vouchers –

All future bookings will be transferred, and you and your nominees will receive the revised flight details post migration.

Any changes to the existing bookings will be as per Flying Returns’ rules, post the migration.

Vouchers –

All valid unutilised One-Class Upgrade vouchers and Complimentary Flight Ticket vouchers will be transferred to Flying Returns with the existing validity. The usage will be governed by the applicable program rules.

Sources told CNBC-TV18 that Air India CEO Campbell Wilson and Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan held a joint townhall meeting on May 13. The meeting highlighted the ongoing integration process between the two airlines, with Kannan taking the lead as the Chief Integration Officer.

During the townhall, it was revealed that the organisational structure for the merged entity has been finalised, focusing on merit and competency for the fitment of existing employees into the new system.

The companies have committed to maintaining transparency with employees regarding the criteria used for designing the organisational structure and the fitment process.

The merger between Air India and Vistara is set to create India’s largest full-service carrier. While Vistara has a fleet of 70 aircraft, Air India has over 130 aircraft.

Air India recently inducted six Airbus A350 widebody aircraft. Last year, Tata’s full-service carrier placed the second-largest order of 470 aircraft with Boeing and Airbus.
