Red plum blossom attractions that announce spring first…Changdeokgung Palace and Bongeunsa Temple Double Cherry Blossoms Enjoy for a Long Time…Boramae Park and Memorial Park A unique spring flower attraction…Cheonggye Stream Apricot Flower and Apricot Flower Deoksugung Palace

Spring is a fantasy. It disappears quickly, as if it were there or not. It’s probably because the new summer is pushing away. That’s why I’m desperate. I want to keep some more. This is why I nod my head when I see hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands of people out to meet spring flowers.

Spring is coming from the last cold snap to yellow dust rain, and there is a lot of excitement. But you can’t go against the grain. Cherry blossom trees already have buds, and magnolia flowers are also showing a white shape, firmly overcoming the rain and wind. In other words, it is a sign that the spring flower fantasy will unfold soon.

Seoul, where spring flowers bloom relatively late, is also looking forward to spring. Spring flowers in Seoul have a slightly different blooming period. First of all, apricot flowers began to bloom on the 20th, and red apricot flowers and apricot flowers are also slowly flying pink petals.

Cherry blossoms are expected to bloom around April 3, and double cherry blossoms are expected to appear about a week later. Of course, all of these times are purely predictable. Due to recent global warming, the flowering period may be accelerated or bloom simultaneously depending on the region.

Red plum blossom attractions… Changdeokgung Palace and Bongeunsa Temple

In 昌 宮 (Changdeok Palace) in Jongno-gu, Seoul, plum blossoms that announce spring are harmonized with the dancheong and roof tiles of the palace, providing a different beauty. Red plum blossoms are leaves of the rose family that bloom in the apricot tree, and the pink color is called red plum blossoms. Compared to other spring flowers, it blooms somewhat early and is known as a flower that signifies spring.

Changdeokgung Palace is the only one of the five major palaces of the Joseon Dynasty to be designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it all the more meaningful. In spring, not only plum blossoms but also various flowers bloom in the palace hall and sponsorship, making it a better place to look around. Sponsorship is a limited viewing area, and you must make a reservation and enter under the guidance of a commentator, so it is recommended to check it out and visit.

The Hongmaehwa in front of Jasimun Gate in Seongjeonggak, which boasts a 400-year-old age, is a Seongjeongmae sent by an envoy from the Ming Dynasty during the reign of King Seonjo, and is smaller than the leader because some of them died due to the cold in the past. However, the appearance of many layers of red plum blossoms blooming is elegant and elegant.

Red plum blossoms also mark spring in Bongeunsa Temple, which has been in place for a long time in the bustling city center, and Samseong-dong, which is lined with high-rise buildings. Bongeunsa Temple has a long history of 1200 years and is a Zen sect investigation that represents the Jogye Order, and has the meaning of urban parks and historical and cultural spaces.

If you pass the Iljumun, you can meet the first red plum blossoms in the garden between the pond and the parking lot. Baekmaehwa is located on the right side of Daeungjeon Hall, and Hongmaehwa, which is visited by many people, can be found if you go up behind Daeungjeon Hall.

Hongmaehwa, located in Yeonggak behind Daeungjeon Hall, is crowded with Buddhists and citizens in spring because of its large trees and many flowers. In addition to the red plum blossoms, there are various flowers throughout Bongeunsa Temple, so please take your time and enjoy the fun of finding the flowers that have bloomed one by one.

Double Cherry Blossom Landmarks… Boramae Park and Memorial Park

Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, has an air park with a model of an airplane, and a rich cherry blossom blends together to create a different scenery. Boramae Park is named after Boramae, the symbol of the Air Force. It was the place where the Air Force Academy was located in the past. It was created as a city park through an agreement with the government in 1986 to relocate Yeouido Airport to Gimpo and Seongnam. Since it was the site of a military academy in the past, there are many large spaces, so it is good for exercise or walking. In particular, it is also good to visit with your dog by providing space for dogs.

Unlike ordinary cherry blossoms, it is more loved because the blooming period is late and it is rare to see double cherry blossoms with more than five layers of dark pink petals mixed with white. If you look closely at the flowers, each flower is abundant, so you can see them for a long time because they do not fall easily in the wind.

The most popular air park road is currently under construction, and unfortunately, you will see double cherry blossoms beyond the fence. Therefore, it is also good to visit an apple orchard and pond where you can meet if you go to the left from the east gate and enjoy the double cherry blossom and apple tree flowers together.

At the Memorial Park, a 30-minute drive from Boramae Park, you can see not only ordinary cherry blossoms but also various types of cherry blossoms, such as double cherry blossoms and foster cherry blossoms, starting around the Yeongyang fountain. Memorial Park is a national cemetery and a veterans’ facility in the Republic of Korea, and is a cemetery for those who have been recognized for their contribution to the state.

Surprisingly, there are many people who visit every season because it is open to anyone and admission and parking are free. Passing through the Memorial Gate and moving to the Tower of Unknown Soldier in Uiyong-gun, Hakdo, the road is lined with overlapping cherry blossoms and foster cherry blossoms to create a unique scenery.

You can see a variety of other spring flowers such as forsythia and magnolia along the walking path near Hyeonchungcheon Stream. For more than 50 years, the general public’s access to forest areas has been controlled and thorough conservation measures have been taken to preserve the natural ecology despite being located in the city center. It is a place where various plants and animals such as red pear hawk, blue woodpecker, and five-colored woodpecker, which are natural monuments No. 243, live.

Cheonggyecheon Stream, the center of Seoul, is one of the best places to enjoy plum blossoms in Seoul by creating Hadong Maesil Street. Cherry blossoms and plum blossoms are difficult to distinguish from each other at first glance, but if you look closely, they are quite different. Plum blossoms, where plum blossoms are opened, bloom directly from branches, and cherry blossoms have separate flower handles. The blooming period also blooms about two weeks earlier than cherry blossoms, and in particular, the scent of plum blossoms is better than that of cherry blossoms, so if you get closer, you can feel the difference in many ways.

Apricot flowers in Namdo are usually famous, but you can also find them in the nearby Cheonggyecheon Stream. Cheonggyecheon Maehwa Street, which was planted with 350 weeks of trees along with Hadong in Gyeongsangnam-do in 2006 and created under the name Hadong Maesil Street, can be found on the road between Yongdap Station and Sindap Station on Subway Line 2. There is also Damyang Bamboo Street in the middle, so you feel like you are walking somewhere in Namdo, not Seoul.

Deoksugung Palace is a 20-minute walk from Berlin Square, near the entrance to Cheonggyecheon Stream. In the stone fish hall in Deoksugung Palace, there is an apricot tree that is over 400 years old and is as tall as a two-story building. Apricot flowers are traditional garden trees planted in the yard by our ancestors for a long time and enjoyed flowers and fruits, and because they are of the same genus as cherry trees, the flowers look similar, but the flower cup is tilted back and shaped like a crown. Apricot flowers bloom around the time of the apricot blossom, which can also be classified as the flowering period.

Deoksugung Seokeodang is a two-story wooden building that is rare in the palace, and is a space that shows off its elegant appearance with apricot flowers. When apricot trees, which are as big as the height of the building, bloom, they are quite coveted and go well with the surrounding buildings, so it is a beautiful place to visit if you go to Deoksugung Palace in spring.
