Indians are flocking to destinations, such as Sri Lanka and Thailand, which have been offering exemptions on tourist visas or free visas since late last year.
“With the announcement of the free visa policy to Sri Lanka and Thailand, bookings to these countries have seen 15-20% growth,” Ayyappan R, chief executive of travel portal Cleartrip, told ET.
